MLA was founded during 1927 and with the sole aim of imparting Education to students (particularly Girls)over the years has established various Educational Institutions from Nursery to P.G.

MLA has all along been able managed by a devoted and dedicated band of Ladies since inception purely on voluntary basis. The present Managing Committee of MLA comprises of Ten elected Members from the Life Members.

The school has adequate infra structure and well ventilated class-rooms, good furniture, adequately equipped Library and Science Lab. The Management on its own and initiation established a well-equipped Computer Lab and Education in Computers (Theory and Practical) is taught to our 8th to 10th Standards. All the Students since past few years have very enthusiastically and eagerly availed this facility to the optimum and stand on the threshold of entry into Computer field.

The High School started during 1956, we have standard 8 to 10th, 2 sections each entirely in English Medium. The Teaching Staff of High School have all along striven their utmost towards academic excellence and our Public Examination Results have consistently remained 90% and above. We had the unique distinction of three of our 10th Std Students securing the coveted I Rank in the State, Miss. E.L. Chitra, Miss. A.V. Indrani and Miss. Poornima Parthasarathy during 1979, 1981 and 1985 respectively.

The aim of the Institution is to impart an all round education. We instill moral values and encourage our pupils to realize their potential. Pupils are divided into 4 houses – Emerald, Ruby, Saphire and Topaz to build team spirit and healthy competition.
